Amid a world of hate crime, racial abuse and constant violence, Liz and Peter, a loving retired couple follow the current news like everyone else, while going through their daily routine. They seem to lead a quiet, rather mundane life - a life that is about to fall apart on an ordinary Sunday morning.
As Peter finishes tidying up the garden, he opens the door of their shed, only to find three total strangers hiding there. Illegally brought in to the UK, Nico, Anna and Amelia ask for a warm place to stay for a few days. Liz and Peter decide to show compassion and help them. They open their home to them for as long as needed.
